Farm

San Antonio, Tarrazú (Santa María, Dota)

Franklin Castillo has been harvesting coffee for more than 40 years in the area of Tarrazú. He grew up in the middle of the coffee farms and also learned the tradition of his family.

He sees coffee as a way of living and he loves seeing the coffee trees dressed with flowers during March-April (blooming season). You can see Franklin planting fruit trees to avoid the use of nematicides or other harmful chemicals, taking long walks in nature, and drinking up to 5 cups of coffee per day.

The Berry Velvet is his favorite and he says “it tastes sour and fruity on the palate and has a rich flavor that leaves me with what I need to start the day, I couldn’t imagine my days without coffee”.

Supernatural Process

A great cup begins with a seed. After two years of growing on the coffee tree, the ripe cherries are handpicked.

The whole cherries undergo a longer, closely controlled fermentation as they dry under the sun, allowing the fruit’s sugars to deepen the coffee’s sweetness, fruit intensity, and aroma.

The beans are rested, milled, and shipped.

Small-batch Roasting

We roast in small batches to bring out better flavor and ensure your coffee arrives fresh.

Smaller batches allow us to fine-tune the roast curve, adjusting heat and timing with precision so each bean develops its natural sweetness and aroma.

Eco-friendly Packaging

Our coffee now comes in fully compostable bags (just remove the non-compostable stickers).

Compostable in industrial facilities, breaking down into natural, non-toxic components.

Even in the environment, they decompose much faster than conventional plastic.

Small deliveries arrive in plantable seed-paper bags and bigger deliveries arrive in recyclable kraft boxes.
